First year music student Owen Jenkins has written the music for a short film that has been selected for the Punto y Raya Festival. The film, Amoeba, is a collaboration between Fine Art student Shannon McFerrin and Owen.
They describe the work:
The film investigates the abstract nature of threat, and the fear of the unknown. Whilst viewing the work you should feel both tranquility from the music but also a heightened sense of awareness. This is due to the ‘random’ selection and composition of the clips in contrast to the repetitive musical theme.
The sound composition is of a repeated tone painting: a collection of pitches representing the sensation created by colours in a particular landscape scene.
Owen continues to study composition as part of his degree at Lincoln, where he is receiving tuition in a broad range of areas and performance opportunities for new works.
